Stefanie Nies
Teacher
Stefanie came to yoga during her first pregnancy over 25 years ago. From that first prenatal class, she found a deeper connection to both the physical and spiritual parts of herself. Her personal practice has included Anusura, Ashtanga and Bikram, but it wasn’t until she took her first Baptiste power yoga class that she decided to become a certified teacher. Stefanie received her 200 hr yoga teacher training (YTT) in 2016 at Drishti Power Yoga in Sea Girt, NJ. Since then, she has completed Restorative Yoga YTT Level 1 (2017) with Ellen Mosko; Pure Chair Yoga YTT (2018) with Brenda Yarnold and Nancy Heeden at Bella Buddha Yoga; and Yin Yoga YTT Level 1 (2021) with Evoke Energy Yoga. Stefanie considers herself a perpetual student, delighting in attending various beginner and mixed level classes and workshops. Her classes combine fundamentals with vinyasa and/or chair flow in order to challenge students of all levels. Releasing fear of inadequacy, fear of failure, and letting go of expectations and control has been the keystone of her yoga practice on and off the mat. With gratitude for all the abundance in her life, she hopes that her students feel empowered, important and cared for in her classes. Her ultimate goal is to provide a place where they can reconnect with their bodies, quiet their minds while providing an inspiring and upbeat workout. When not on her mat, Stefanie can be found gardening, enjoying the beach, playing pickelball or walking on the boardwalk.
