Welcome New Students

At Green Lotus Yoga & Wellness, we understand that starting something new can be intimidating, especially when it comes to yoga.

Our mission is to create a supportive space where students can overcome fears, embrace balance, and embark on a journey to well-being.

Getting Started

Do I need experience to try yoga at Green Lotus?

Not at all. We understand that starting something new can feel intimidating, especially yoga. Our mission is to create a supportive space where you can overcome the fear, ease into balance, and start your own journey, whatever that looks like for you. Beginners are always welcome, and every class offers modifications so you're never forced into a position that doesn't feel right for your body.

What's the difference between your class types?

All of our classes are non-heated

Vinyasa : A flowing practice that links breath to movement, building heat and strength one pose at a time.

Yin: A slow, quiet practice where poses are held longer to release deep into the body and settle the mind.

Chair: All the benefits of yoga, done seated or supported by a chair, accessible for every body and every ability.

Beginner: A welcoming, unhurried introduction to the basics, perfect if you've never stepped on a mat before.

Hatha: A gentle, grounded practice that moves at a slower pace, giving you time to settle into each pose.

Restorative: Deeply relaxing poses supported by props, designed to help your body fully rest and recover.

Do you offer a deal for new students?

Yes, new students can try 2 weeks of unlimited yoga for $30. New Student Special

What to Bring

What should I wear to class?

Wear something comfortable that allows for easy movement. You don't need special yoga clothes, just something comfy and cozy that you feel relaxed and flexible in. Yoga is practiced barefoot, no shoes on the yoga floor. If you'd like to wear socks, please wear grippy yoga socks to avoid slipping.

Do I need to bring my own mat or props?

No, we have mats, blocks, straps, blankets, bolsters, and eye pillows you're welcome to borrow. We don't believe in charging you to rent something that supports your practice. That said, you're always welcome to bring your own mat or props if you prefer.

Should I bring water?

Yes, staying hydrated is paramount. Please drink water before, during, and after class, especially for a more rigorous flow.

Studio Etiquette

What time should I arrive?

Please arrive a few minutes early to check in, store your belongings, and set up your space. The door is locked at the start of class, so a few extra minutes makes a big difference.

Where do I put my personal items?

We provide cubbies at the front of the studio for your belongings. No shoes on the yoga floor.

Can I keep my phone with me?

We ask that all phones be silenced and stored in the cubbies. We understand wanting your phone nearby for emergencies, if that's the case, please keep it silenced. We don't allow recording or photos during class.

What's expected of me during class?

We're a pretty laid-back studio, so mostly: please limit disruptions, honor the teacher's sequencing, and don't skip savasana, final rest is a vital part of letting the practice settle into the body. If you need to leave early, let the teacher know ahead of time so you can gather your things without disrupting other students. And please wipe down and put away any mats, blocks, or props you use, toss the tissue from your eye pillow, and fold and return your blanket.
